Up, Up & Away

Here are snippets of things I came across/ate on my 18 hour journey from Toronto, Canada to Asia. We had a short layover in Korea, then we were off to Bangkok to catch our connecting flight to Vientiane, Laos. Let me tell you, this was the longest 18 hours ever!

Happy Family Day to my fellow Canadians!

Here's a look at my first meal aboard Korean Air - Bibimbap!

Travel Essentials For A Long Haul Flight

I'm sharing this post with you before I leave this week on my three week trip to Laos & Thailand. I've been on my fair share of 10+ hour flights and lets be honest, they're unpleasant to say the least. Your sleep will be restless. You'll be yearning for a real, enjoyable meal. Your muscles will definitely ache, especially your butt and neck. Your skin will dry out and you will probably feel disgusting by the end of it. I promise though, once you reach your destination, none of that will matter and that long flight will have been worth it. It's like the saying goes, "Nothing really worth having comes quickly and easily!"

Wvrst | Quack Quack Fries

Canadian winters can sometimes make it difficult to plan any type of event with snowstorms creeping up whenever they please. Every year, my bff Mila tries to plan her birthday celebrations around old man winter and somehow bad weather eventually takes over. This year, she opted for a lunch outing at Wvrst in hopes of dodging any evening snow squalls.

Windsor Arms | A Royal Tea Affair

I've been waiting for a special occasion to go for high tea at the Windsor Arms in Toronto. I figured what better occasion to go than for my birthday. I have heard great things about their tea services from Mila, so I was excited to finally try it out for myself.

School Bakery & Cafe | Winner Winner Chicken (And Waffles) Dinner!

Within Liberty Village sits one of the top brunch spots in Toronto, School Bakery & Cafe. This is the kind of school I'm sure everyone would appreciate attending. My friends and I planned an outing here in November to celebrate my birthday and one of my other girlfriends, Li. Our birthdays are 8 days apart. Our group consists of six girls - we grew up together, our parents were friends and we all attended a language class on Saturdays for a good chunk of our life. We have now been friends for over two decades, crazy!

Mean Bao | Savoury Pillows

Living in the suburbs about an hour and a half away from downtown Toronto, I don’t have that many opportunities to explore Toronto’s delectable local eateries.  After a night out at Canada’s Bridal show (as a bridesmaid), we were quite famished. Lugging around bags on bags full of magazines, portfolios and pamphlets isn't easy! It was 10PM on a Friday night and surprisingly, some of the local spots on Queen West were closing up for the night. We took to Instagram and TasteToronto to find some other options. Within a few minutes, we found ourselves at Mean Bao!
